Excitement is building as the time approaches for Huawei’s, and indeed the world’s, first tri-fold phone. Now we can officially see the phone’s rear design and we are faced with a very luxurious design concept.
The video begins with actor, singer-songwriter, and filmmaker Andy Lau, who was named as the brand ambassador for Huawei’s Ultimate Design brand. The Mate XT is shown with a vegan leather back design featuring an octagonal camera island not too dissimilar to the Mate 60 RS Ultimate.
A close-up of the Mate XT’s rear reveals that it will be equipped with four cameras, including a periscope module, but we don’t have any details about the sensors for now. The device is briefly shown unfolded in the final part of the image, focusing on the remarkably thin design.
According to the latest rumors, the Mate XT will offer a 10-inch foldable display, a 5G-compatible Kirin chipset, and up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In terms of price, the tri-fold smartphone could come with a price tag of $2,250-2,400.
